About the GEM Awards

The GEMs celebrate the small businesses and service organizations that make Etobicoke-Lakeshore truly special. Each year, community members nominate their favourites—the neighbours who go above and beyond, the local businesses that show up for us, the organizations making a real difference. It's a chance to #SupportLocal and recognize the people and places that matter most.

Nominations are open until July 31st, 2026. Winners are selected by our BIA Chairs, and the award ceremony takes place later this year. Winners also get featured across social media and in a community mailout to every home and business.
