Oak Learners is a not-for-profit micro-school and learning center, offering a

full-time and part-time elementary private school as well as a wide variety of enrichment programming, including tutoring, music, art, outdoor education, dance, yoga, day camps, and more.

Preschool Enrichment: 2.5-4 year olds

Our Preschool Enrichment Program is designed for children aged 2.5 to 4 years who will be starting Kindergarten next year. This is not a daycare. Rather, it's a purposeful "Kindergarten Readiness" program that builds classroom and independence skills through play-based, inquiry-led learning. The program runs three days per week (Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and explores literacy, numeracy, science, social language skills, and so much more.

Full-Time and Part-Time Enrolment Available

Kindergarten

Kindergarten students at Oak Learners spend their days creatively exploring literacy, numeracy, science, and the arts. We use a natural, inquiry-based program inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.

Our curriculum is skill-based and cross-curricular, with a unique focus on outdoor education. Time spent in our community and in nature gives students meaningful opportunities to engage with their environment and their peers.

Daily programming includes:

Core Skill Development: literacy and math
Outdoor Education: ecology and gross motor development
STEAM: science, technology, engineering, arts, and math

Monthly theme-based units guide learning and provide a foundation for project-based learning that connects to the real world.

Grades 1 to 6

Each learner goes through a cyclical process: identifying their unique strengths, needs, goals, and interests. Working with teachers, peers, parents, and community members, they design inquiry-based projects to guide their learning throughout the term.

At Oak Learners, each day brings new learning opportunities. We use an integrated and immersive approach to elementary education that covers Ontario curriculum content and skill achievement guidelines.

Through a holistic, project-based inquiry model, students experience deeper and richer learning. This approach enriches the curriculum while honouring each child's individuality.

Before & After Care

B.A.S.E. Camp (Before and After School Enrichment) program provides daily supervision and programming from 7:30-9 AM and 3-6 PM each day, with transportation to/from the child/ren’s school.
